MAYWOOD, Mo. -- James Michael "Jim" Kessell, 60, of Maywood, died at 2:29 p.m. Friday (April 12, 2013) in Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Jim was born Aug. 3, 1952, in Quincy, to Michael F. and Ruth F. Woolsey Kessell. He married Vicki Diane Wilson Dec. 18, 1993, in Emerson.

Jim farmed in the Emerson area and was a truck driver for Gully Transportation. He was a 1970 graduate of Marion Co. R-II High School and was a member of Emerson Christian Church.

He loved the time he spent with his grandchildren, especially his farming buddy, Carl, and Carl loved to be with his farming buddy. Jim loved to romp and jump around with Mikala and Donald, and loved camping trips and fairs with Keri. He loved the ever so little time he spent with Kaleb and Morrissa. He loved his grandchildren and they loved him. He also liked going to county shows and fairs.

Jim is survived by his wife, Vicki; children, Trina (Willie) Schindler of New London, Billy Munday of Emerson, D.J. Munday of Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska; grandchildren; Keri Diane and Carl Michael Schindler of New London; Mikala Ke Ann and Donald Allen Munday of Emerson; Kaleb Scott and Morrissa Lyn Munday of Eielson AFB, D.J.'s fiance, Courtney Miller and her children, Brice, Summer and Coden Miller of New London; a brother, David Kessell of Mill Valley, Calif.; sisters, Barbara (Harold) Goff of Iowa City, Iowa, Donna Sue (Dan Cullimore) Kessell of Columbia and Judy (Robert) O'Bryan of Columbia; special nieces and nephews, Kim, Jennifer, Cathy, Anne, Erin, Morgan, Michael, Jason, Justin, Laura, Sally, Nicole, Brian, Scott, Eric, Ashley and Brandon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Ruth Kessell.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. The Rev. Randy Estes will officiate. Interment will be in Maywood Cemetery in Maywood.

Casket bearers will be Jim Dent, Richard Sutter, Chuck Mason, Jack Cason, Eddie Reid, Jeff Reid, Brad Cason and Kevin Ransom. Honorary bearers will be Willie Schindler, Billy Munday, D. J. Munday and Carl Schindler.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, Palmyra.

MEMORIALS: Maywood Fire Department, Marion Co. R-II Fire Department, or USO at Lambert International Airport St. Louis.

ARRANGEMENTS: Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, Palmyra.
