Rayola Miller, 65, of Quincy died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday (April 16, 2013) in her home. Born July 6, 1947, in Quincy, she was the daughter of Raymond and Nola Marie Collins Viar. She married Frank "Ben" Miller on Jan. 20, 1979, in Quincy. He survives. She was a 1966 graduate of Quincy High School and a member of Alpha Chapter No. 109 Order of Eastern Star. Rayola enjoyed swimming, biking, doing puzzles and fishing. She also enjoyed raising catfish with her husband when they lived on their farm. Rayola was employed as a nurse's aid at Sunset Home for 25 years until her retirement. Survivors include her husband, Ben; two stepdaughters, Debra Miller and her husband, Jerry "JO" Oitker of Bowen, and Donna Shanks and her husband, Kevin, of Fayetteville, N.C.; one stepgrandson, Brandon Shanks also of Fayetteville and her stepmother, Verlee Viar of Quincy. Also surviving are her son, Dennis Montgomery and his wife, Denise, of Hamilton; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents; a stepson, Franklin Dennis Miller; her father and mother-in-law, Benjamin "Mike" and Marian Miller. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, with Pastor George Tomko officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. VISITATION: Friday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. with an OES service at 10:45 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
