PLYMOUTH, Ill. -- Terry Lee White, 59, of Plymouth, died at his home Saturday (May 11, 2013). Terry was born April 24, 1954, in Macomb, a son of Robert and Helen L. Johnston White. He attended Plymouth High School graduating in 1972. In 1988, he married Lorrie Walker in Keokuk, Iowa. Terry was on the St. Mary's Township Board and had just been elected as township supervisor. He had been a trustee before that. He was a member of Farm Bureau and the Soil Conservation Board. Terry enjoyed watching all sports. He was a member of the Macomb Bowling League for many years and also played catcher in fast pitch softball. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time in Arizona to play. He was a board member of the Tri-County Country Club and was regularly seen helping around the course and repairing equipment. He enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs and especially the Minnesota Vikings. He was a member of St. Mary's Baptist Church. Terry was a lifelong farmer and lived on the home place. Terry is survived by his wife, Lorrie, of Plymouth; three children, Elizabeth "Libbie" White of Quincy, Casey Sargent of Burlington, Iowa, and Christopher Sargent of Carthage; his mother, Helen L. White of Carthage; a brother, Ron (Linda) White of Mountain View, Calif.; four sisters, Kathy Merkle of Danforth, Jan (Rodger) White and Susan (Tommie) Long, both of Carthage, and Carol (Steve) Helenthal of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Garrett and Gannon Sargent; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert White; a sister, Barbara; a nephew, Eric White; and a brother-in-law, Stuart Merkle. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church in Carthage with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in St. Mary. VISITATION: 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 4 to 8 p.m. MEMORIALS: Tri-County Country Club or donor's choice.
