Paul Ducey Lenane Obituary
Paul Ducey Lenane, 86, of Bickford Cottage, Quincy, died on Monday (June 17, 2013) in his home.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1926, in Pittsfield, a son of Paul E. and Helen A. Ducey Lenane. He married Mary Rose Blanche Ludwig on April 16, 1947, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She survives.

Paul was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended Quincy College. He served in the U.S. Navy on a tugboat in the Aleutian Islands during World War II.

He worked for many years as sales manager for Chanen Auto Supplies and their 18 stores. He later worked at Hutter Oil Co. in sales, retiring in 2007.

Paul was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Catholic War Veterans. He served on the former St. Mary Church Council.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and auto racing along with going to car shows.

In addition to his wife, Mary Rose, he is survived by three sons, Daniel Lenane and his wife, Deb, Tim Lenane and his wife, Donna, all of Quincy and Richard Lenane of Camp Point; five grandchildren, Karri Plumlee of Ooltewah, Tenn., Greg (April) Lenane of Quincy, Sarah Lenane of Hannibal, Mo., Laura Unglesbee and her husband, Luke, of Macomb, and Tom (Holly) Lenane of Quincy; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Catherine Rubison.

SERVICES: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Payson VFW and the Illinois National Guard Military Funeral Detail.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
