William "Billy" Kroeger, 51, formerly of Quincy, died Thursday (July 11, 2013) in Rolla, Mo., after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 5, 1962, in Quincy, a son of LeRoy and Rita Walker Kroeger. He married Kristi Lawson on March 12, 2010. She survives. Billy proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a sales manager for Snowman Cooler and was of the Christian faith. Billy was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan and a Chicago Bears fan. He loved his music and attending concerts. Billy enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially softball and golf. He was a state champion boxer. Billy loved life, was loved by his friends and adored by his family. In addition to his wife, Kristi, Billy is survived by his parents, LeRoy and Rita Kroeger, of Quincy; nine children, Brett Kroeger, Anthony "Rocky" Kroeger, Benny Kinard, Lyndsey Austin, Paulla Meyer, Audriana Cain, Alec Cain, Trent Doane and Lauran Doane; five grandchildren; two brothers, Michael "Duke" Kroeger Sr. and his wife, Julie, and Scott Kroeger; three sisters, Tina Kroeger, Bobette Kroeger and Jennifer Kroeger; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. SERVICES: 1 p.m. Monday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery. VISITATION: 3 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
