PLEASANT HILL, Ill. -- Cheryl A. Peck, 62, of Quincy, formerly of Pleasant Hill, died Monday (Aug. 26, 2013) in Sunset Home, Quincy. Cheryl was born March 3, 1951, a daughter of Eugene C. and Doris Morrow Browning. Cheryl enjoyed baking, in which she was especially good at decorating cakes and wedding cakes, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She served as the Children's Choir Director from 1989-1991 at Nebo Church of the Nazarene. She also was an assistant Girl Scout Leader in the 1980s. She loved animals and watching old movies and enjoyed Elvis Presley music and movies. Cheryl had a big heart, loved to laugh and was always willing to help anyone in need. She is survived by her mother, Doris Browning of Pittsfield; a son, Anthony Peck of Quincy; a daughter, Amy (Joshua) Whitmarsh of Bellevue, Neb.; and two grandchildren, Hailey and Jacob Whitmarsh. Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Peck, in 1997; and her father, Eugene Browning in 2009. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday in the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield.
