Mendenhall, Anna B.
Ann was the personification of the
American dream. She was born to parents of European descent in Pittsburgh, PA on December 21, 1922. She lost both parents and her two brothers to illness so she decided to come to California with her three-year-old daughter and start a new life.
She met and married Ray W. Mendenhall and together they raised a family that would include three more children. Ann and Ray lived in Glendora for over 47 years and knew many of "Old Glendora". At an early age, Ann was active in many school and civic organizations, and took a leadership role in many of them.
After working at the State of California Board of Equalization for over 25 years, she came back and worked as a retired annuitant, finally retiring for good in her early 80's.
Later in life she enjoyed playing bridge and hand and foot in several different groups. She had a life-long love for dogs and had several dogs later in life when most people would have retired from that as well.
Her funeral will be at Oakdale Mortuary on Monday, July 22 at 11:00 a.m. Any that knew her and want to join us to celebrate her life are invited to attend.
