Beck, Jane Merrick
It is with a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Jane Merrick Beck, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
She was born Jane Leslie Merrick in Pasadena CA on
November 3, 1927 where she grew up. Jane met her future husband Rudolph John Beck while they were both attending Pasadena City College (PCC) in the late 40's. Following PCC, both Jane and John attended and graduated from the University of Southern California. After graduation, Jane became a Registered Nurse and worked at Huntington Memorial Hospital for several years. Jane and John married on July 1, 1950. They had five children, and raised them in Glendora, CA. Jane was an active member of the United Methodist Church, and was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Glendora. When her children were young, Jane worked first as a pre-school teacher
and then as Director of the pre-school at the United Methodist Church in Glendora. Jane was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother with a great passion for cooking and reading. She loved to try new recipes and introduced her family to many different cuisines, and instilled in them her love of lifelong learning. Jane is survived by her husband of 63 years, her children Janis Dugan (Joseph), Gary Beck (Sandy), Diane Farris (Mark), Carolyn Beck (Geir Dullerud), and Susan Paulus (Mark), 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Jane will be profoundly missed by all, but remembered always with great love. Services will be held at the United Methodist Church and Oakdale Cemetery in Glendora, which can be contacted for further information.
