Marie Bougetz

November 3, 1932 - January 5, 2014

Marie Bougetz passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Born Marie Germann in Minnesota, Marie received her B.A. and Masters in Library Science from the University of Minnesota, where she also met her husband-to-be, Richard Bougetz. They settled in Southern California where Marie worked at the Santa Monica Library. She then got her teaching credential and was a fourth grade teacher at Woodlake Elementary in the San Fernando Valley. She later returned to her first love, the library; and worked as a reference librarian at the Woodland Hills Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library for 30 years before retiring in 2008.

Marie and Richard were married for 52 years. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Susan Bougetz; son-in-law, Brian Aulbach; grandson, Milo Bougetz-Aulbach; and brother, Robert Gorman. Marie was very much loved, and will be missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

The Funeral will be Saturday, January 11, 2014, 9:30 a.m., at St. Bernardine of Siena Church. Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2014, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Gates Kingsley Gates.
