Robert Knoll


Age 84, of Glendale, CA, passed away after a lengthy illness on May 8, 2014.

Dr. Knoll was born in Pasadena, California on February 20, 1930. He was born to the late Gordon Gould Knoll and Elta (Molly) Florence Learn. He graduated from Glendale High School, Glendale College (A.B.), UCLA (B.A.), UCLA (M.S.W.), USC (Doctorate). Dr. Knoll was a College and University Professor and Lecturer-Pierce College, San Fernando Valley State College and USC.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Spatola-Knoll, her husband Domenico Spatola-Knoll, and two grandchildren, Clare Spatola-Knoll and Jonathan Spatola-Knoll all of Olympia, WA. He is also survived by a brother, Phil Knoll, and his wife Aldene Knoll, and a niece Julie Tibbets and her husband Mark Tibbets, and great nephews, Kyle Tibbets and Kirk Tibbets all of Orange, CA. Additionally, he is survived by a nephew, Steve Knoll and a great nephew Ethan Knoll of Lake Forest, CA.

For a period of time he was the Director of The Catholic Youth Authority in Glendale.

The Funeral will be held at The First United Methodist Church in Glendale located at 134 N. Kenwood St., on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., and there will be a burial service with Honors at the National Cemetery in Riverside, CA, at 2:15 p.m. the same day.
