Walter M. Douglas was born Feb. 21, 1934 in Murray, Utah. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1962 with a Master Degree in Economics and a minor in History. In 1966 Walter started teaching at South Hills High School. While there, he attended the University of La Verne. He graduated with a Doctorate of Law in 1972.
At this time he became partner in the law firm of Tscharner and Douglas, which eventually became his own firm under the name of Walter M. Douglas Law Corp. He retired from active practice in 2007.
Walter was active in sports his entire life, but fishing was what he mostly loved to do. Every year the family, kids and grand kids would go to Mammoth for a week.
Walt and his wife Phyllis, loved to travel and together visited many countries. However, the greatest joy in his life was being with his grandchildren. Whether it was watching a baseball, water polo, or basketball game. Or just being together fishing at a peaceful lake.
Walt is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis. His children include Craig and Masako Douglas, with their son Chris. Shauna and Bill Lupton, with their children Alexis and Mac. Funeral services will be held on July 7, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 11:00 a.m. 1023 N. Glendora Ave., Covina.
