Charles "Chuck" Heaton, 86, passed away Wednesday, May 16th at his assisted living home in Yorba Linda, Ca. He was born to Carrie May and Clark Roy Heaton on January 22, 1926 in Pasadena, CA. Chuck married the late Rose J. Heaton in 1946, and they lived together in Pasadena.
Chuck was a radioman in the US Navy from 1943-1952 and fought in World War II and the Korean War. He started working for the US Postal Service in South Pasadena in 1947 and retired as a Post Master in 1980. Chuck spent his retirement traveling with his wife around the United States going to Postal Conventions and selling T-shirts, hats, and accessories from their printing business, Heaton Enterprises. Chuck enjoyed donating his time and money to various organizations including the AIDS Foundation stemmed from the death of his youngest son, Fritz, who he lost by AIDS.
Chuck will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, supportive grandfather. His charitable work and his fun-loving spirit will never be forgotten. Chuck is survived by his sisters, Betty Langum and Mariam Anderson, his oldest son, Tim Heaton of Temple City, and his daughter, Susan Comey of Orange, as well as his 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd, at 12pm at Mountain View Cemetery, 2400 Fair Oaks Ave. Altadena, CA 91101.
