Be the first to share your memories or express your condolences in the Guest Book for Gerald Busse.
Born September 28, 1939 and was raised in Monterey Park. Gerry graduated from Alhambra High School and then attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he studied Architecture. Gerry served in the Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was during this time Gerry became friends with David Hamilton the younger brother of George and Tommy Cole from the Mickey Mouse Club. Gerry married the daughter of Monrovia Councilman Bob Thomas. He and Babs had two children: Blaine and Sheryl. Gerry spent a great deal of time with his daughter's son, Chance who he doted over. After Gerry and Babs divorced, a year of tomfoolery occurred, Gerry then settled down and married Anna Roginson who cofounded Carden of the Foothills in Monrovia. In 1971 Gerry became a Licensed Architect and worked in Arcadia for other architects such as John Ross, John Galbraith and the Ficks Brothers doing design work for hospitals and libraries. In the early 1970s Gerry started his own architecture firm and started working with the city yards in Monrovia. Later in his career, Gerry designed the residences and large commercial/industrial buildings for local developer Fred Bowden. Gerry developed a large malignant inoperable tumor on the liver which was his downfall.
