GILBERT F. GASTELO
September 1, 1929 - February 13, 2013

Passed away at 83 years of age on February 13, 2013, at 12:30 pm, in Panorama City, CA. He died peacefully with his wife, Ruth Gastelo, by his side.

He was born in Fresno, CA and grew up in Pacoima, CA. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. Gilbert worked for the L.A. County Flood Control for 19 years, and worked for the city of Los Angeles for 14 years as a crossing guard. Gilbert and Ruth were married for 59 years and had nine children, 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Sandra Gastelo and his youngest son, Steve Gastelo. Gilbert was a humble man whose only goal in life was to ensure his family's happiness. As a family, we can say whole heartedly that his goals were reached and that his love and caring heart will be missed by all that knew him, especially his family. Now it's time to rest, time to see long lost family and friends and to wait for those yet to arrive at Heavens gates. May the Lord Bless you for being so good to us, words could never express how much you were loved here on Earth.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, 10:30 a.m., at Mission San Fernando Rey De Espana, Mission Hills, CA. Immediately followed by burial at, San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
