Robert (Bob) Gottfried

86, passed away peacefully at home, with his children at his side, on Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Long Beach, California. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a gentle presence to all. He spent 56 years married to Evelyn who passed away in 2010. Bob spent 25 years working for Disneyland. His career working for Disney sent him to work for Disney World in Florida and Tokyo Disney in Japan. Born in Cudahy Wisconsin on November 17, 1927, Bob is survived by 2 children, daughter Linda Gottfried-Pike of Torrance, son Robert Gottfried, daughter-in-law Jaymi Gottfried of Long Beach, granddaughter Lea and step-grandchildren Ian and Caity. Also survived by, 4 brothers, Chester, Marvin, Leonard, Ray, 1 sister, Shirley, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. In his early life (before children), Bob enjoyed building fast cars and riding motorcycles. Another passion was, drawing, painting, and sculpting with clay. He enjoyed taking that small sculpture and transforming it into a life-size waterfall or an addition to the house. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Forest Lawn, 1500 East San Antonio Drive Long Beach, California 90807.
