Martinez, Sandra Mary Ruth
Sandra Mary Ruth Martinez, 17, of Azusa, peacefully passed away March 6, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to Emily Hernandez and Raymond Martinez, Jr., December 21, 1996 in Arcadia, CA. Sandra was an Azusa High School honor student, an aspiring trauma surgeon, and intern at St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach. She was also a member of the Azusa High Cheer Squad, AVID College Readiness System, and the National Honor Society.
Sandra is survived by her parents, sister, Rebecca Marin, brother, Justin Martinez, nephews, Javier and Jakob Meza, uncle Victor Martinez, paternal grandmother, Patricia Martinez, maternal grandparents, Francisco and Maria Hernandez, godparents, Dora Guardado and Antonio Diaz, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made out to City of Hope or Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
Rosary will be Thursday, March. 13th at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be Friday, March. 14th at 10:00 am. Both services will be held at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Azusa. Burial to follow at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora.
