Sidney D. Hekman "Sid"
Was born Oct. 3, 1943, in Ripon, Ca. to Peter and Anne Hekman. According to the promises of God, and Sid's faith in his Savior Jesus Christ, he entered his eternal rest on Jan. 7, 2014, surrounded by his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife Marlene; children Annette (Mark Christensen), Michael Hekman (Heather), Matthew Hekman (Jessica) and Daniel Hekman; grandchildren Emily, Amanda, Ian, Olivia Christensen, Jenelle, Clayton, Stephen, Jeffrey Hekman, Ethan, Alayna and expected baby Hekman; brothers Ralph, Peter, Bruce, Bill, John and Andy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret Anne.
Sid owned and operated Desert Mobile Home Service for 37 years. He served on the Redlands Christian School board for over 35 years. Sid loved his family, his friends, his church, his garden, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was generous to all, freely giving his time, talents, and resources. Everyone loved the candy hearts he shared all year long.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 13, 2pm at The River CRC, 459 E. Highland Ave. Redlands, Ca. Remembrances: www.redlandschristian.org, www.mccaredlands.org, www.lls.org.
