Winfield Goulden Obituary
December 10, 1919 - May 19, 2013

After a long, well-lived, event-filled life Winfield's spirit gently left him. Win was born in Stamford, CT; Graduated Rutgers University, 1941. He was a paratrooper, and glider pilot in WWII, was wounded twice while fighting in Normandy, France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. After the war Win was a journalist with the NY Daily News; then joined the Mutual Broadcasting Co. as a Press Representative for celebrities Sid Caesar and Ed Sullivan. He later became an Advertising/Marketing VP with major advertising agencies in New York & Los Angeles, including Benton & Bowles, Kenyon & Eckhardt, Young & Rubicam, & Erwin-Wasey before retiring in 1996. Win played baseball in an advertising league until he was 76. A lifelong lover of jazz, and the musicians who create it; Win was known as a human encyclopedia of jazz. A talented storyteller and writer of short stories, his book GLIMPSES was published in 2010.

Win lived in Studio City, and is survived by his wife, Sylvia Hamilton Goulden, their son, James (Angela) Goulden; his daughters, Lisa Whitney Goulden, and Sara (Ray Pratt) Goulden, and grandson, David Abney. Bennett Goulden, deeply-loved eldest son, passed on in June 2010.
