ODriscoll, Seana J. - Rockland  
Seana J. ODriscoll of Rockland, died August 28, 2015, at age 50. She was the loving mother of Kaitlyn ODriscoll; loving sister of Denise Keaney of Abington, Mary Kate Miller of N.H., Ellie Sullivan of Abington, Denis ODriscoll of Holbrook and the late Eamon ODriscoll; loving daughter of the late Denis and Eileen ODriscoll. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Proffit, Barbara - Weymouth  
Barbara (Rounds) Proffit, age 88, of Brunswick, Maine, formerly of Abington, passed away at home surrounded by her family. Barbara was born to Elizabeth and George Rounds, September 9, 1927. After being educated in Abington schools, Barbara worked in the school cafeteria and later, worked for Colonial Rug Co., along with being a mother and talented homemaker and making custom braided rugs. She eventually became an instructor of braided rugs in adult education. Barbara was president of the Onset Bay Art Gallery. She co-owned and operated the Country Bumpkin Used Furniture Store in Abington, and was a nursing home activities director in Brockton. Barbara was also a seamstress for WareGuard in her later life. Along with having many careers Barbara also loved volunteering for various causes such as Meals on Wheels, Peoples Plus in their thrift store, and was on her high school reunion committee. She enjoyed spending time with her entire family and will always be remembered for everything she did for them. Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years John W. Proffit Sr. She is survived by her loving children, John W. Proffit Jr. of Cusseta, Ga., Gregory A. Proffit of Savannah, Ga., Gary P. Proffit of Cusseta, Ga., Judith A. Acquin of Brunswick, Maine, and was predeceased by Kevin C. Proffit, Peggy Parsons, and Sandy Staples. Barbara is also survived by twelve grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren and her long-term caregivers Linda Walker and Cyndie LaGrange. Funeral service Monday, August 31, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Abington, 219 Adams St., Abington. Sampson Jr., Harold O. - Rockland  
Harold O. Sampson Jr., 88, of Rockland died August 27, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family and cared for by the Hospice of the South Shore. He was born in Abington, son of the late Harold O. Sampson Sr. and Ethel (Hunter) Sampson and was raised and educated there. Mr. Sampson was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Bud had worked in the construction field for 40 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Rockland Post 1788 of the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Eunice H. (Rousseau) Sampson; his children, Paul Sampson and his wife Anita of Abington, Jeffrey Sampson and his wife Jeanne of Rockland and Ronald Sampson and his fiance Michele of Bridgewater. Also surviving is his sister, Barbara Pierce; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life Monday, August 31, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland. The Rev. Kristy Coburn will officiate at a funeral service Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Holy Family Cemetery. Ward, Willie G. - Brockton  
Willie G. Ward of Abington, formerly of Winterville, N.C., passed away Monday, August 24, 2015, at the age of 65. He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Jeanne L. (Marini) Ward. Son of the late John H. and Mittie Ann (Spell) Ward, he was the loving father of Jackie Ward, John Ward, both of Abington, Michael Ward of Brockton, Nathan Ward, and Luther Brite both of Abington, and the late Willie Jean Ward; brother of Retha Harris, Daisy Payton, both of N.C., Rosa Daniels of Fla., the late Mary, Bobby Jean, Doris, and Jack all of N.C. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Willie love spending time with his family, fishing, sports, and barbecuing. Visiting hours in the Sampson-Hickey-Grenier Funeral Home, 309 Main St., Brockton, Monday, August 31, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Interment private. Wheaton, Marjorie R. - Whitman  
Marjorie R. (Connell) Wheaton, age 82, of Rockland, formerly of Whitman, passed away on August 29, after a long illness. Margie was born and raised in Worcester and was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Hills) Connell and beloved wife of the late Robert F. Wheaton Sr. She was a nurse for over 40 years and received her nursing degree at Long Island Hospital in Quincy. Her real passion in life was her family. Margie also enjoyed knitting, the Patriots and was an animal lover. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was the devoted mother of Robert Wheaton and his wife Katherine of Franklin, Tenn., William Wheaton (deceased), Barbara Williams and her husband Richard of Rockland, Linda Shanahan and her husband Gerald of Rockland and Richard Wheaton and his wife Wendy of Marshfield. She was the loving Nana of Derek Shanahan and his wife Martha of Halifax, Colleen Hanson and her husband Brent of Weymouth, Michael Shanahan and his girlfriend Alyssa Zimini of Weymouth, Carly, Ryan and Brooke Wheaton of Marshfield; also the loving great-Nana of her namesake, Hazel Marjorie Shanahan. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend her visitation Wednesday, September 2, from 4-7 p.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle), Whitman. Wilson, Marion C. - Charlestown  
Marion C. (Cullity) Wilson, of Abington, 88, beloved sister, aunt, friend and devoted wife to departed husband Joseph Cook and departed husband Charles Donald Wilson passed away on Aug. 14, 2015. Marion was born on Dec. 16, 1926 in Charlestown, Mass. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Marion (Lavelle) Cullity. She attended Emmanuel College and worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Brockton for many years. Marion was a communicant of St. Bridgets Church in Abington. She had been a lector, Eucharistic Minister and member of the church choir. She was past president of the Fleet Reserve, past president of the Abington Seniors, late member of the Abington VFW and Opals choral group. Marion was a faithful Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends and her style and grace. Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters Regina King, Dorothy Burns and husband Kevin, cousin Florence Burke and husband John and many treasured nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Anne Louise Mortimer and husband Joe, Mary Jane Livingston and husband Bill, brother Tommy Cullity and wife Mary. With gratitude and respect for a life well lived her family invites relatives and friends to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 4 - 8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth, at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
