Kathryn Griffin

Kathryn Griffin, 58, a long time resident of Rocklan, died at her home on March 1, 2013. She was the daughter of the late William Bud and Merle (Merritt) Griffin. She was raised and educated in Rockland, graduating from Rockland High School in 1972. She later obtained her Associates degree from Massasoit College. Kathy was a member of the Holy Family Defenders and Pembroke Imperials Drum and Bugle Corps and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit# 0149 in Hanson since 1995. She played a baritone bugle in both drum corps which competed and won National titles. As a customer Service Representative, she was a long time employee of Electro-Signal Lab in Rockland and Party-Lite Candles in Plymouth. She was known by Griff and made many, many friends throughout High School, drum corps and her jobs. She was also known to her Party-lite customers as Kay she formed several long distance friendships and she enjoyed going to visit people all over the country. She is survived by her sister Sallie Griffin-Kahler and her husband Peter of FL. She was the aunt of Rachel and Eric Kahler of FL. and Lauren Kazimel of PA. She was pre-deceased by her sister Gayle Griffin. Also surviving is her beloved cat Idgey. The family welcomed friends and loved ones to celebrate her life on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 9:30 -10-30 a.m. in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. in Rockland. A Funeral Service was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Kristy Coburn officiating. Burial in Hanover Center Cemetery.
