Mary A. Abraham

Mary A. (Mackie) Maudie Abraham, 82, of Abington, died March 13, 2013 with family by her side. Raised in South Boston, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Flanagan) Mackie, she graduated from St. Augustin High School in 1948 and enjoyed library work after school. A career bookkeeper and receptionist, she worked for Tobias Hearing Center in Quincy for the past 35 years. An avid reader, history buff, fantastic cook, the best storyteller, she was very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor and quick wit, loved music and opera, had an international flair for language and culture, was an animal lover and had a wonderful personality, just to name a few of her attributes. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Abraham; beloved sister of Irene Collins and her husband Jeremiah and Donna Kenneally and her husband Kenneth, all of Abington; and a loving aunt of several generations of nieces and nephews who adored her, including Joanne (Collins) Griffin with whom she made her home. All were welcome to gather on Friday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church in Abington for her memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Cremation and private committal.
