Obituary Condolences

Alexander M. Dowie, of Rockland, formerly of Randolph and Sarasota, Fla., passed away March 10, at the age of 76. Born, raised, and educated in Scotland, Alex came to the US in 1962. He moved to Randolph in 1967 and more recently lived in Sarasota, Fla. for 16 years. He was the owner of Dowie Plastering. Alex was a singer in the Rogues Band and was a British Juvenile Champion for Drumming as well as the 1982 Champion for Drumming in Scotland. He also enjoyed boating. Beloved husband for 53 years of Allison (Cummings) Dowie. Loving father of Andrew Dowie and his wife Eileen of Hanson, Stuart Dowie of Taunton, and Alec Dowie and his wife Laurie of Halifax. Dear grandfather of Meghan, Colleen, Dylan, Tracie, and Kerry. Also survived by his great-grandchildren, Presley and Lola. A funeral service was held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, Friday, March 14, at 2 p.m. Visiting hours was Thursday, March 13, from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment private.
