Frank P. DelPrete, 88, of Rockland, died April 25, 2013, at South Shore Hospital. He was born June 20, 1924, in Hingham, son of the late Dominico and Angelina DelPrete, and was educated in Rockland. Frank was the former owner with his late brother Dominic of D&F Maintenance Co., Twin Elm Farm, and Rockland Garden Center. He also was a former owner of the DelManor Nursing Home in Rockland. Mr. DelPrete was a founding member of Local 1602 of the Rockland Firefighters Union when their Charter was issued. He served as a full time firefighter for 8 years. Active in Civic affairs, he served as an elected member on the Town of Rockland Board of Assessors for 30 years. In addition he served on the Fire Department Building Committee, Reeds Pond Cleanup Committee. He served as function manager at the Rockland Sons of Italy for over 20 years. He was a member of the Rockland Eagles, the 100 Club of Massachusetts, and was a founding supporter of the Rockland Education Foundation. Mr. DelPrete was honored several years ago by the Rockland Chamber of Commerce as their Man of the Year. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Priscilla A. (Witherell) DelPrete; and their children Donna and the late Jack Hoadley of Hanover, Carol Brigham and husband Paul of Rockland, Nancy Sage and husband Fredrick of Hanover, Janice DelPrete-Frost and husband Anthony of Rockland, Deborah DelPrete of Scituate, Marie Chase and husband Brad, Frank P. DelPrete and wife Vickie, Robert DelPrete and wife Sherry, Daniel DelPrete and wife Christine, all of Rockland. Also survived by 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Anthony DelPrete of Rockland; and sister, Marion Manning of Weymouth; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Albert, Joseph, Edmund, Gerald, and Dominic DelPrete, Lena Esposito, Filomena Francomano, and Mary Walsh. A celebration of his life was held Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland. A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, April 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial in Holy Family Cemetery.
