Hugh D. Gray, 77, of Rockland died March 10, 2014, at the Webster Park Nursing Home in Rockland. He was born in Quincy, son of the late Samuel and Mary (Donachie) Gray and was raised and educated there. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps following his high school graduation. He had been an employee of General Dynamics at the Fore River Shipyard for several years and later was an ironworker for Local 7 in Boston until his retirement. Mr. Gray was an avid golfer at Presidents Golf Course in Quincy. Husband of the late Mary E. (Costa) Gray, he is survived by his children, Martin R. Gray of N.H., William H. Gray of Rockland and Christopher J. Gray of R.I. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life was held Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service was Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 11:30 a.m., in the funeral home.
