Lorraine P. (Morey) Smith, 81, of Rockland, passed away August 22, 2014, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was born in Quincy, daughter of the late Albert Lewis and Josephine Morey. She was raised and educated in Quincy, graduating from Quincy High School in 1951. Lorraine worked for many years as a secretary at the Quincy Oil Company. After raising her children, she later worked at Wear Guard in Norwell and at Rockland Federal Credit Union. Lorraine loved spending time with her grandchildren and wintering in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Some of her favorite pastimes included, gardening, spending time on her computer, playing cards, and trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Mohegan Sun. Lorraine is survived by her husband, Charles A. Smith of Rockland. She was the mother of Lisa M. Davide and her husband Joseph of Malden, and Laura J. Cedrone and her husband Jeffrey of Rockland; grandmother of Mark Davide and Laura Davide of Malden, and Madison Cedrone and Nicholas Cedrone of Rockland. Also survived by her beloved dog, Zoey. A celebration of her life was held at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 29, in the First Congregational Church of Rockland, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Rockland.
