Robert E. Buddy Hamblett, Weymouth Fire Dept., Retired, age 70, died peacefully, Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Coyne Healthcare Center. He was born in Weymouth, raised and educated in Weymouth schools and has lived in Rockland for fifteen years, previously in Weymouth. Buddy was a Weymouth firefighter for twenty-five years and retired in 1989. He was a Vietnam War veteran having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Saratoga. He enjoyed sports especially football and baseball. Beloved husband for forty-one years of Elaine M. (McIntosh) Hamblett. Dear brother of Louise McCall of Weymouth and Judith Buckley of FL. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services was conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Wednesday Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting were prior to the service from 10 | 11 a.m. Interment with military honors at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Buddys memory may be made to the .
