Sarah Christine Muscato, of Rockland, lost her battle with cancer on June 9, 2014, at the age of 92. She was surrounded in her home and cared for by her loving family and the Norwell VNA Hospice. Beloved wife of the late Anthony F.P. Muscato Sr., they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Sept. 10, 2013. She is the loving mother of Joseph A.D. Muscato Sr. of West Wareham, the late Anthony F. Muscato Jr. and his wife Kathy of Marshfield, James P. Muscato and his wife Lisa of Pembroke and Catherine E. Muscato of Rockland and her late partner Barbara Bowlen. She was grandmother to Greg, Elaine, Alicia, Joseph Jr., Jeffrey, Sara, Darry and Kayla and great-grandmother to 17 children. She is survived by her sister Virginia Reeves of Georgia. She was pre-deceased by her sister Ruby Duran of Georgia. Sarah was born at home in Fulton County, Georgia but has lived in Rockland for the past sixty-one years. She was the Manager of the new Esten School Cafeteria while her children were in High School. She has been a member of the Rockland Sons Italy, Venezia Lodge 374, for 41 years; served as Delegate numerous times; Mistress of Ceremonies and Sunshine Fund Chairperson. The Muscato family welcomed friends and loved ones to celebrate Chris's life on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland. A funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Family Church in Rockland on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 9 a.m. Burial followed the funeral Mass at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
