William A.Bill Whidden Jr., 58, of Abington, formerly of Dorchester, died Wednesday, April 25 in South Shore Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Karen (George) Whidden. He was born in Boston, son of Rena Whidden and the late William A. Whidden Sr. Bill grew up in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Roslindale High. He was a resident of Dorchester for many years, before moving to Abington three years ago. Bill worked for Stop & Shop in the produce department for over 30 years. He last worked at the Stop & Shop on Newport Ave in Quincy. He was a member of Union Local 328. Bill loved music, singing, animals and especially his family. In addition to his wife Karen and his mother Rena; he is survived by his children, Connor and Ryan Whidden, both of Abington, William A. Whidden III and his wife Jodie of Stoughton, Christopher Whidden of Worcester and Shannon Collet and her husband Gator of Attleboro; his grandchildren Abbey, Michael, Ariana and Collin; also his sister Cathy (Tainter) Scollins of Stoughton and his nieces and nephews Ashley, Kelsey, Danielle, Alyssa, Scott and Matthew. His services were held Monday, April 30 at 10 a.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman.
