Thomas J. Argento Jr.

Thomas J. Argento, Jr., 69, born in Concord, a longtime resident of Boxborough and formerly of Lincoln and Acton, MA., died peacefully Thurs. April 4, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Helen (Ey) Argento; dear son of the late Thomas and Rose (Mannarino) Argento; loving father of two children, Kimberly A. Prehl, her husband Christopher, and Thomas J. Argento III, his wife Karen. He is also survived by four grandchildren who lovingly called him "Papa" - Krista, Cory, Thomas IV and Nicholas; his two sisters, Theresa Duggan of North Bridgeton, NC and Amelia Young of Amherst, MA; his mother and father-in-law, Bob and Mary Ey, and sister-in-law Mary Anne Cobleigh; his uncle Joseph Mannarino and wife Florence; and many cousins. Tom graduated from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in 1962, and from Coyne Electrical School in 1965. His current electric business was started in 1968. He served as Electrical Inspector in Boxborough since 1975. In his younger days he traveled and played USSSA Softball with several teams, and also enjoyed his bowling leagues at the Acton Bowladrome. He was an avid fisherman and in later years loved boating and fishing with friends and family on his boat, TOMA, out of Salem Harbor. The Argentos traveled to Aruba yearly and enjoyed spending time with their Aruba Pool Friends. Tom was known as a kind man, a great story teller, and good friend to many. He will be sadly missed. All are invited to visiting hours Sun. April 7th from 2:00-6:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rte 111) Acton. A funeral service for family and close friends will be held Mon. April 8th at 11:30am at the funeral home. Interment in South Cemetery, Boxborough, will be at a later date.
