Loretta P. McLean

Mrs. Loretta P. (Lillis) McLean, 95 of Haverhill and formerly of Brighton passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Mrs. McLean was the wife of the late Henry F. McLean. She was born in Brighton, September 5, 1916, daughter of the late Michael J. and Suzanne (Conry) Lillis. Mrs. McLean attended St. Columbkille's Grammar and High School and was an active member of Our Lady of Presentation Parish, Brighton... She took great pride in her 50 year membership in the Catholic Daughters Of America and Presentation Sodality. In her retirement years she found her voice with the Oak Square Seniors and the Haverhill Inspirational Singers. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, St. Patrick's Day would find Loretta performing a duet with everyone from the Mayor of Boston to many family members. She had a special gift of cultivating lifelong friendships. This was exemplified in her later years with her wonderful friendship with Chris Driscoll. She will be sadly missed by her six daughters, Carol O'Rourke, Margaret Scott, Bonnie Pompei and her husband Enrico, Patty Buguey and her husband Mark, Paula Samuels, and Laurie Lavallee and her husband Rodney, her eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, October 3, at 10:30 in St. Columbkille Church, 321 Market St., Brighton, MA. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons BRADFORD Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford, MA 01835.
