Gerard J. Gagnon

Gerald J. Gagnon of Highland Lakes, Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, FL, on April 30, 2013 with his daughter by his side. He was born on March 1, 1931 in New Rochelle, NY, the only son of Maude Seacord and Gerard Gagnon. After serving in the Air Force, he graduated from Boston University and worked in communications in the Boston area. He was very active in the community, including serving as a longtime Town Meeting member in Arlington, MA, before moving to Florida with his wife, Antoinette Van Beers Gagnon, in 1997. He is survived by a daughter, Anne Walbridge of Sausalito, CA, sisters Judy Palazzo of Mt. Kisco, NY, Jean Dolcetto of Yardley, PA, and Rose Vitiello, Lake Carmel, NY., and many other loved ones throughout the country and around the world, especially in Holland. A viewing was held at the Beyers Funeral Home at 1123 W. Main St., Leesburg, Friday, May 1, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a short prayer service. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Catholic Community of St. Paul, 1330 Sunshine Ave., Leesburg, at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013. Father Mark Wajda celebrant. Burial followed at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Military honors US Air Force. In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcomed at Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
