Edith Parsons Obituary

Edith "Edie" L. Parsons, 105, passed away on December 2, 2017. Edie lived for most of her life in Arlington Massachusetts, with a break of a few years in Maine, and one year in Connecticut. She leaves her sister Alice (Parsons) Nichols. Edie was predeceased by siblings Lucinda Stockman, Emma Prince, Edward, Thomas, Arthur, and Robert Parsons. She leaves many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Auntie Dee. Edie also leaves a few very good friends. Edie always said her best birthday present was when her niece Georgina was born on her birthday. One of Edies first jobs was as Mrs. Buttons assistant, sewing for the Salvation Army. Edie worked for many years at Carr Fastener, and was known for being very exacting. Edie loved to sew, knit and crochet. Most family members have at least one afghan that she made for them. She had a love of cats as evidenced in her large ceramic cat collection. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Keefe Funeral Home, Arlington MA. There will be a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
