Everett John Smith died Jan. 27, 2013. He graduated from Taunton High School in 1942. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he graduated from UMass-Amherst. He married Teresa "Terry" A. Morlock of Taunton. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in October 2012. Everett and his family lived in Norwalk, Conn., and he worked for the National Bureau of Property Administration selling commercial tax consulting services for 34 years. He retired in 1999 and he and his wife Teresa have resided on the seashore enjoying Cape Cod in Dennis. In addition to his parents, John Smith and Mildred (Wall) Smith, he was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Smith. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Teresa (Morlock), are his two daughters, Margaret Smith Sumner and husband Stephen H. Sumner of Hudson, Ohio, and Patricia Smith Shaughnessy and husband Michael Shaughnessy of Hanover; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Sumner Marcello, Teresa Claire Shaughnessy, Emily Holbrook Sumner, and Katherine Ann Shaughnessy; and two great-grandchildren, Julia Margaret Marcello and Jacob Mario Marcello. A viewing will occur from 9-10:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Stations Ave., South Yarmouth, and a Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cape Church, at 468 Stony Brook Road, Brewster. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Dennis.
