James F. Kenney, 81, of Hyannis, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at his home. Born Oct. 6, 1930, he was the son of the late William L. and Rose (Vahey) Kenney. James was an outstanding third baseman for North Quincy High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War stationed in Okinawa, Japan. James was well loved by everyone that knew him, especially by his coworkers at Boston Edison, where he worked for 38 years. Survivors include his brothers, William Kenney of Venice, Fla., Richard Kenney of Osterville, Robert J. Kenney of Braintree; as well as many nieces and nephews. Burial took place Jan. 30, in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Arrangements by Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St., Hyannis.
