John D. Ardito of Bedford, MA, died suddenly in his home on Sept 27, 2013. He was the husband of Barbara ( Rossi) Ardito. He was born May 28, 1938, in Somerville to the late Charles and Sylvia (Valente) Ardito. John worked as a manager of mechanical engineering research and development at Wang Labs. While at Wang, John was awarded with 3 U.S. patents in his name. Before retiring, John worked as a manager of mechanical engineering at Scully Signal. He was a life member at the Woburn Sportsman Club and The Cast Bullet Association. He shot in competition for the past 50 years and held over 30 records for The Cast Bullet National Tournaments. He was a machinist and gunsmith and built many competition rifles. John also wrote several articles for "The Fouling Shot" magazine of The Cast Bullet Association. When John wasn't shooting, he spent his time taking care of his vintage cars and working in his yard. His greatest enjoyment over the years was having his grandchildren, Richard and Sammie Ardito, over on the weekends teaching them about yard work, roofing, and auto maintenance. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Daniel J. Ardito, his children, Richard and Samantha (Sammie), his wife, Martha Ardito and her two children, Dillion and Samantha of Mason, NH, and Douglas J. Ardito of Los Angeles, CA, brother, Charles Ardito of Yarmouth, MA, sister Virginia Ardito Zampanti of Medford, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Ardito, of Bedford, MA. Respecting John's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to The Bosler Humane Society, P.O.
