Obituary Condolences

Salvatore Barbieri Jr.., 77, of Bedford, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his Bedford home on June 22, 2013. Mr. Barbieri was born in Boston on February 29, 1936, to the l ate Salvatore and Leonora (Froio) Barbieri. He was raised in Brighton and lived there until moving to Bedford in 1966. He was a retired bricklayer and lifelong member of Boston Local 3 Bricklayers Union. He was employed as a curb setter for many years before joining the union. A devoted family man, he enjoyed spending his time Attending the activities and sporting events of his four grandchildren. He also spent his leisure hours fishing, playing cards, swimming, working out and tending his vegetable garden. He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Jackson) Barbieri, three sons, Mark and his wife, Nancy of Bedford, Paul of Burlington and David of Bedford, his sister, Mary Salvucci of Florida and grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Paul Steven and Joseph Barbieri and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Eleanora Patterson, brothers, William and Joseph Barbieri and daughter-in-law, Holley Christiansen Barbieri. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Michael Church, Bedford, on June 25. Interment was in Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B 102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to Massachusetts General Hospital, Cardiac Unit, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114 Arrangements were in the care of Bedford Funeral Home, Bedford, MA.
