Helen A. Babci (Abramek) Bozek, RN, 98, of Wareham, formerly of Bellingham, died peacefully, with her family at her side Friday June 12, 2015 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, following an illness. She was the wife of the late Frederick Fred Bozek, who died in 1999. Born October 8, 1916 in Woonsocket, RI a daughter of the late Jozef and Agata (Pamula) Abramek, she was also a former resident of North Ft. Myers, Florida, before moving to Wareham several years ago. She was raised and educated in Woonsocket, where she was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and continued her education at Worcester City Nursing School, where she received her registered nursing degree in 1945. She also did graduate work at Boston University. She worked for the former Worcester City Hospital for over 30 years and retired as head supervisor in 1982. Babci loved to entertain, cook, travel, read, and tend to her garden of flowers. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a former member of the Our Saviours Parish the Polish National Catholic Churchs choir and assisted with the churchs Polish picnics. She is survived by 2 daughters; Cynthia A. Vendetti and her husband Joe of Wareham and Susan P. Ginand and her husband Thomas of Narragansett, RI, a sister, Frances Medveski of Woonsocket, RI. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren; Julie Vendetti-Lomberto, Gina Lampasona, Jill Schaefer, Jenifer Ellis, Joseph F. Vendetti, Ryan Ginand, Philip Ginand, Stephen Ginand and 10 great grandchildren. Helen was the sister of the late John & Walter Abramek, Mary Brach, Jennie Szymanski, Amelia Trocina and Wanda Kornicki. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour Saturday June 20th, from 9-10AM at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Saviours Parish the Polish National Catholic Church 500 Smithfield Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 at 11:30AM. Her interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Our Saviours Parish the Polish National Catholic Church, 500 Smithfield Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895. To the family of Mrs.Bozek, she lived such a long life, just think of the changes she must have witness in her life time things were totally different 98 years ago. Try and think of all the good times you spent together, and the great memories, and it will get you through this difficult time.
