Albert Ralyea Obituary

Albert C. Ralyea 84, of Franklin, died Saturday December 24, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center following an illness. He was the husband of the late Anita (Guinard) Ralyea for 62 years before her death in 2009. Born in Boston on February 13, 1927, a son of the late Alan and Grace (Shepherdson) Ralyea, he was a resident of Franklin for over 60 years. He was raised in Foxboro, and educated in Walpole and for over 33 years worked in the textile industry at Clark-Cutler McDermott Company in Franklin. Albert served his country during World War II in the United States Navy, he attained the rank of Fireman, Second Class and was awarded the WWll Victory Medal and the American Area Medal, and he was honorably discharged in July of 1946. He could often be seen walking around Franklin, he loved all the New England sports teams, & treasured time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. Ralyea is survived by 2 daughters; Paula J. Guay and her husband Michael of Franklin & Bonnie Ralyea of Woonsocket, RI., 4 grandchildren Michael J. Guay of Woonsocket, Scott C. Guay, & Andrea J. Guay of Franklin, and Robert St. Laurent of Woonsocket, RI. Relatives and friends were invited to attend his funeral service Friday Dec. 30th, at 12Noon in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, oterifuneralhome.com. Interment followed at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours were Thursday from 5-7PM. Due to floral limitations at the cemetery, donations in his memory sent to the American Cancer Society 5 Manley St. West Bridgewater, MA 02379 would be appreciated.
