Agnes "Micki" Romaine, age 86, passed peacefully at her residence in Summerfield, Fla. on Monday Dec. 27,2010. Micki was born December 11,1924 in Franklin, Mass. to parents William and Grace (O'Connell) McDonald. She is preceeded in death by her loving husband Walter J. Romaine in 1984. She attended Franklin Public Schools and graduated with Class honors and as Treasurer of her Class in 1942.She also was nominated for the D.A.R. Pilgrim award.Micki graduated from Framingham Teacher's College and received her degree of Bachelor of Science in Education. She then became a member of the Faculty of the East Hartford, Conn. public schools. Micki taught in East Hartford,Conn. and Franklin, Mass. Public elementary schools. Micki was active in Girl Scouts,Bicycling,Swimming,enjoyed Word games, Reading, Birdwatching, Wildlife, Nature and all things Boston including the Red Sox and Patriots! Micki retired to Boynton Beach, Fla. in 1976 where she was active in community and civic service including Citizens patrol. After husband Walter passed on she moved closer to daughters Robin and Wendy in Summerfield, Fla. A fascinating trip to Ireland in 1989 with her daughters will always be remembered fondly. Micki was a progressive individual, encouraging higher education especially for women. Micki is preceeded in death by her parents William and Grace McDonald both of Franklin, her husband Walter J.Romaine, younger brother James also of Franklin, sister Regina Sweed of Wrentham, Mass. and is survived by brother William "Bud" McDonald and wife Marilyn of Pocasset, Mass., daughters Robin and Wendy and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration service will be held in Summerfield Florida.
