Obituary Condolences

Albert J. Beatrice of Franklin passed away peacefully on May 11th at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Al was born in Malden, the son of the late Albert Beatrice and Margaret McMillan Beatrice. He attended Malden Vocation and was a proud union sheet metal worker of Local 17 for 50 years; retiring in 1993. He was in the Army National Guard and excelled in the physical fitness program. Throughout his life, Al was a loyal New England Patriots fan, and loved the game of pool, landscaping and decorating his home, talking history with his family and friends, and had a deep love of animals, especially horses. He was the husband of the late Joan (Waugh) Beatrice, who passed away in 1986 and is survived by his wife Donna (Powers) Julian Beatrice. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Darren and his wife Diane of Medfield, Marc and his wife Laurie of Norfolk, Sean Beatrice of Foster RI. Tracy Keefe and her husband Doug of Wrentham, and Jonathan and his wife Patricia of Ashburnham. He also survived by his two step children, Stephen Laquidara of Hopedale, Ellen Meehan of Milford, Sister Kathleen Remson of NH and brother Brian Beatrice and his wife Joanne of Florida. He also leaves fifteen grandchildren, Nathan and Michelle Beatrice, Jacqueline, Jessica and Josette Beatrice, Danielle, Maria and Carlie Beatrice, Kristen, Kerri, Katelyn Keefe, Stephanie, Brittanie, Joseph and Joshua Beatrice. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Beatrice and a grandson Douglas Beatrice. Als family wishes to extend their gratitude to the 5th floor Doctors and Nurses and staff at the Dana Farber Cancer Centre in Milford, who cared for Al with so much love, tenderness and regard, especially Dr. Brendan McNulty, Dr. Michael Constantine. Dr. Ciran McNamee, Dr. Peter Orio, his nurses at the Dana Farber. Jen and Janet his VNA nurses. Denise Coyle and his hospice nurse Julie Gonzalez. Al always thought of the Dana Farber as his safe haven. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday May 16th, at 9:30AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, 1 Church Sq. at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8PM.
