Albert L. Gunn Obituary
Albert (Al) Leroy Gunn, 47, of Milford, MA, passed away on Sunday, August 20th of natural causes. Als health suffered recently from an autoimmune disorder and related heart disease. Al was born on January 29, 1970 in Kenbridge, VA. Al grew up with his family on the Gunn familys Dixie Lee Farm, where Al loved driving tractors. Al graduated high school from Randolph-Macon Academy (RMA) in Front Royal, Virginia where he played basketball and was a Lieutenant Commander in the Air Force Jr. ROTC. While attending RMA, Al often visited his close friend P.J. Flagg (deceased), whose family lived in Natick, MA; and as a result, eventually Al relocated to Massachusetts. Before moving north, Al graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, Virginia, where he obtained a Commercial Drivers License. Al had a large extended family of numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from his fathers family of nine siblings in Virginia and his mothers family of eight siblings in Holland. At 69, Al was a big, kind- hearted uncle to his nieces and nephews and he will be missed. Al was a good friend and a dedicated co-worker who will be missed by many in the Millis area where he made his home. Al is predeceased by his father, Eldred Cecil Gunn of Bridgewater, Virginia. Al is survived by his mother, Alda van Hartskamp Gunn of Bridgewater, Virginia and his sister, Cecile Gunn Desmond of Lee, New Hampshire, and his niece Liligrace Allie Desmond and nephew Russell Brent Desmond. Al is also survived by three half-siblings: Delia Gunn Bonenberger of Springville, New York, Adele Gunn Gill of Boonesboro, Maryland, Timothy Jennings Gunn of Charlotte, North Carolina, and his half-nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, including Bradley, Kevin and Eric Bonenberger, Meredith Gill Green, and Caleb Gill, and Emily, Alex and Amy Gunn. Services will be held Sunday morning, August 27th at the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home in Millis at 10:30 am.
