Alma R. (Ciarlone) DeBaggis, 89, of Franklin, died peacefully, at her home, with her family at her side, Wednesday July 1, 2015 following an illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. DeBaggis, Sr. who died in 2013. Born November 4, 1925, in the Roslindale section of Boston, a daughter of the late Gaetano and Emily (Mancini) Ciarlone, she was a longtime Franklin resident. She was raised and educated in Roslindale, where she was a graduate of Roslindale High School and continued her education at the Burdette School of Business. Following her marriage, she was the bookkeeper at the former DeBaggis & D'Errico Bakery in Franklin and then worked for Dean Bank in Franklin, and retired as assistant treasurer. A woman of deep faith, she was devoted to St. Mary's Church in Franklin, she volunteered her time at the church's St. Rocco's festival, and was a member of the Catholic Women's Club and also served on the altar care ministry. She was a member of the Franklin Sons of Italy and treasured time spent with her family. For the past 2 years, Alma lived at Forge Hill where she served on the flower committee and made several friends whose company she enjoyed. She will be remembered as a gracious and kind woman. She is survived by her children, Roberta Trahan and her husband Roger of Franklin, her daughter-in-law Cheryl A. DeBaggis and her companion Damian Anselmo of Franklin, Vincent J. DeBaggis, Jr. and his wife Judy of Plymouth and Lisa M. Oxford and her husband David of Franklin. She was the mother of the late Agostino "Tino" DeBaggis, who died in 1998. Also surviving a brother Reynold Ciarlone and his wife Carol of Bri- dgewater, a sister Anita Stathakes of Roslindale, her grandchildren, Agostino "Auggie" DeBaggis and his wife Stephanie, Stephen R. Trahan and his wife Gabrielle, Damien Proctor, Matthew J. Trahan, Lauren E. Kloos and her husband Ryan, Laura E. Josselyn and her fianc James DeFrancisco, Meghan C. Trahan and her fianc David L. Burdett, Nicole C. DeBaggisand her fianc Tim McCormack, Anthony M. DeBaggis and his companion Katie McGee, Michael J. Josselyn and his fianc Jen Bradstreet, Stephanie A. DeBaggis, Rebecca L. DeBaggis and Vincent J. DeBaggis III, and her great grandchildren Sera I., Kira A., and Nathan R. DeBaggis & Brooke G. Trahan. She was the sister of the late Herman J. Ciarlone and his wife Antionette (D'Errico) Ciarlone and Robert Ciarlone. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday July 15th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St., with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday July 14th, from 4-8PM. Alma's family would like to thank the staff at Forge Hill Assisted Living, and Idolina, her care provider from Season's Hospice, for the exceptional care that they provided for her.
