Anna B. (Johnson) Vanderwal, 91, of Franklin died July 1, 2013 in Kindred Transitional Care in Franklin. She was the wife of the late Lester B. Vanderwal. Born in Jumonsville, Pennsylvania, August 4, 1921 the daughter of the late John W. and Florence (Morgan) Johnson, Mrs. Vanderwal was raised in Pennsylvania and had lived in the Islington section of Westwood for many years prior to moving to Franklin six years ago. Mrs. Vanderwal had been active in the Circle Group of the Islington Community Church. She had also been a brownie leader. Mrs. Vanderwal enjoyed drawing; sewing, cooking, baking, gardening and family get togethers. Mrs. Vanderwal served in the Army during World War II. She is survived by her daughters Jacqueline Troiano of Sharon and JoAnn Wright of Franklin. She was the mother of the late Jeraldine Nelson. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Her funeral service was held on Saturday July 6 the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes. com) 3 Barber Street, Medway at noon. Burial was in New Westwood Cemetery.
