Carl Kristenson Obituary
Carl Kristenson, 76, of Wrentham, passed peacefully on December 6, 2015 in St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Brighton due to advanced cardiac disease. His loving family was able to be alongside him through the last hours. He was the beloved husband of Janice E. (McGee) Kristenson, to whom he was married for 56 years. Born in Newton, MA on April 12, 1939, he was a son of the late Eric and Shirlie (Wilkin) Kristenson. Carl was raised in Westwood, MA and was a graduate of Westwood High School and attended Bridgewater State University and Brandeis University. He worked as a self-employed masonry contractor for many years prior to his recent retirement. He enjoyed living on Lake Pearl where he loved boating with his family and friends and would waterski and take members of the church youth group boating. Carl won Mr. Massachusetts and Mr. Maine in the All Natural Bodybuilding competitions in the over 45 Division when he was 55 years old, also finishing 4th in the Mr. USA All Natural Bodybuilding competition. Carl served previously as a Christian youth group leader was a very active member in the Church of Emmanuel in Norfolk, serving as a Deacon and Church Elder. He led Bible study classes in Wrentham, and served in the Mens Ministry Group which provided handyman services to single moms, widows, and those in need. He also was active in prison ministry at MCI Norfolk until this past year. In addition to his wife Janice, who he met in first grade, Carl is survived by a son; Wayne Kristenson and his wife Marilyn of Raynham, a daughter; Beverly Kristenson Helton and her husband Thearon of Foxboro, two brothers; Paul Kristenson and his wife Delores of Foxboro, and Eric Kristenson and his wife Katherine of Attleboro, two grandchildren; Joshua Kristenson and his wife Beth of San Diego, and Jessica Kristenson Mills and her husband Jesse of Fitchburg, and four great grandchildren; Connor, Parker, Lainey, and Ryder Mills. Visiting hours will be held in the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham on Sunday, December 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 14th at 11 AM in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 63 Rockwood Road, Route 115, Norfolk. Burial will follow in Wrentham Center Cemetery.
