Claudia B. Romoska Obituary
Claudia B. Romoska, 96, died peacefully Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center, following a prolonged illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Romoska. Claudia was born and raised in Claremont, N.H. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Agatha (Barbaric) Belkovicz, and she outlived her siblings John, Walter and Nida Eaton. Claudia was proud to have served in the US Navy as a Hospital Apprentice First Class. A veteran of World War II, she served at the US Marine Corp. Air Station in Edenton, N.C., where she met and married Joseph Joe Romoska, a Navy seaman. Claudia and her husband, Joe, lived most of their lives in Norwood, where Claudia enjoyed raising her children, knitting, gardening, and visiting Nantasket Beach in the summer. Claudia is survived by two daughters, Josephine R. Taylor of Franklin, and Susan Ayers Walker of Atherton, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Danielle (Taylor) Childers of Baytown, Texas, Courtney Taylor of Franklin, and Rebecca Ayers of Melbourne, Fla. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral with military honors Saturday, May 1, at 1 p.m., at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home (www.franklinfuneral.com), 33 Cottage St. Franklin. A calling hour period will be held prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Homes for Our Troops (www.homesforourtroops. org), 6 Main St., Taunton, MA 02780.
