Clifford M. Rose Obituary
Clifford M. Rose, born June 2, 1964, in Belfast, Maine, succumbed to a long battle with combat PTSD on May 21, 2016. Mr. Rose is survived by his two children, Emily and Alexander. Preceded by his late father Frank Sr., he also leaves behind his mother and step-father Roberta and Jim Foster, and two brothers, Raymond and Frank Jr. Clifford was an Army veteran of the Iraq War, where he earned several medals including the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. He grew up as a Wrentham native, spending his childhood and most of his adult life in town. Cliff graduated from King Philip Regional High School as a member of the National Honor Society and captain of the school soccer team in 1982. An active Boy Scout, Cliff achieved the rank of Life Scout with Troop 61, spending his summers camping, hiking, and fishing at Cooper Pond. He attended Northeastern University and worked full time as a letter carrier for the USPS before he was first called to duty in 2004. He loved to drive, and owned many different muscle cars and roadsters throughout his life. His most recent pride and joy was a 2008 Shelby GT500 Ford Mustang. He was often seen walking his German Shepard Jill in the center of Wrentham and around the towns state trails. Cliffs profound generosity touched many lives throughout the years and the unparalleled love he had for his children and parents is his lasting legacy. He served two years with distinction as a Chief Warrant Officer III across Kuwait and Iraq. His dedication and patriotism that he developed during his military career was carried out in all aspects of his life, as his family, friends, and peers will attest. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org) or any other military and veteran . Visitation will be held this Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 4-8pm at the Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham. Services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10 am in the funeral home. Cliff will be laid to rest at the Veterans Burial Center Cemetery. Online guestbook may be found at rjrossfuneralhomeinc.com.
