David E. Tolman 39, of Cumberland, RI, died peacefully, with his family at his side, Sunday May 31, 2015 at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, following a brief illness. He was the fianc of Nicole M. Walker. Born May 12, 1976 in Norwood, a son of Errold W. and Elaine L. (Marguerite) Tolman of Franklin, he was a longtime Franklin resident, before moving to Cumberland 3 years ago. He was raised and educated in Franklin, was a graduate of Franklin High School Class of 1994 and he also attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York. David was working as a cement finisher for the Marguerite Concrete Company for the past 18 years. David was always the center of attention, whether he was entertaining at family gatherings or being out with his fianc or friends. He was a big-hearted man; he loved spending time with his niece and nephew and will be remembered for his charisma, kindness and enthusiasm for life. He was a former communicant of St. Marys Church and was a member of Local 534, Boston. In addition to his parents and fianc, he is survived by a brother Michael J. Tolman of Franklin, a sister Amy L. Phoenix and her husband Christopher of Franklin, nieces, and nephews, including Andrew & Olivia Phoenix and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Thursday June 4th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery.
