Delia R. (Lombardi) Malvesti, age 97, of Quincy died peacefully, Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at the Weymouth Healthcare Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford, raised and educated in Milford schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1932. She has lived in Quincy for seventy-three years. Delia was a homemaker and devoted to her family. Beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Malvesti, Lieutenant, Quincy Fire Dept., Retired. Devoted mother of Joan P. Malvesti of Quincy, William M. Malvesti and his wife Beth of Weymouth, the late Colonel Richard J. Malvesti, U.S. Army and his wife Carol S. Malvesti of SC. Loving grandmother of Michele L. Malvesti of VA, Daniele Malvesti of NC and Michael D. Malvesti of Weymouth. Cherished great-gramma of Grayson and Trenton Oliver. Dear daughter of the late Bernard and Maria Lombardi. The youngest of seven siblings, she was the sister of the late Americo, the late Ernest and the late Domenic Lombardi all of Milford, the late Clara Ceramicoli of Hopedale, the late Rina Capurso of Shrewsbury and the late Madeline Post of Franklin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral was from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Friday, Oct. 12 at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass was in Saint Agathas Church, Adams St. at Brook Road, East Milton, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday, Oct. 11, from 5 | 8 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Delia loved animals and was always concerned for their welfare and requested for those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Chandler Street, Boston, MA 02116.
