Domenico Pizzi Obituary
Domenico Pizzi 93, a longtime Franklin resident, died Tuesday October 20, 2015 at St. Elizabeths Medical Center in Brighton, following an extended period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Carmina Elisa (Carlucci) Pizzi., who died in 2010. Born in Santa Maria del Molise, Italy March 11, 1922, a son of the late Michaelangelo and Maria (Castilli) Pizzi, he was raised and educated in Italy. In 1949 he moved to Venezuela, where he lived for five years until coming to America in 1954, where he settled and remained in Franklin. Mr. Pizzi was a self-employed stonemason, and for many years before his retirement, worked in the maintenance department for the Town of Franklin Housing Authority. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, loved both flower & vegetable gardening, he was a communicant of St. Marys Church, and was a longtime member of the former Turco & Pisano Society He is survived by his son Alex Pizzi of Franklin, 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Todd and Eric Pizzi, and his 7 great grandchildren, Serena, Isabella, Laina, Sophia, Grace, Scarlett and Grayson. He was the brother of the late Carmine, Michele, Anunziata, Lucia, and Antoinette Pizzi. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday Oct. 24th, at 10:30 AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 11AM. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday morning from 8:30-10:30AM at the funeral home.
