Donald J. D'Innocenzo Obituary
Donald J. D'Innocenzo, 68, of Medway, died peacefully, with his family at his side Friday November 20, 2015 at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough, following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Theresa A. (Davis) DInnocenzo. Born July 20, 1947 in Newton, a son of the late Ottavio D. Tivvy DInnocenzo and Catherine E. (Olivigni) DInnocenzo, he was a former resident of Newton before moving to Medway in 1980. He was educated in Newton and was a 1965 graduate of Newton North High School. He then attended Newton Junior College. Donald was a fire fighter for the City of Newton for 13 years, before an injury forced him to retire. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force as part of the 465th-19th Airborne Missile Maintenance Squadron. He attained the rank of sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1970. Donald loved playing his guitar, gardening, skiing, hiking, bicycling, and traveling to New Hampshire. He was also devoted to his wife and daughter. Donald was a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 863 and the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his daughter Alyssa D. Allard and her husband Ronald of North Attleboro, 2 brothers, David J. DInnocenzo of Florida and Bruce O. DInnocenzo of Medway and many nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard DInnocenzo. Calling hours are Friday Nov. 27th, from 4-7PM at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage Street Franklin. A private graveside funeral service with military honors will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
